In this publication we current a set of papers round the subject of Agent-Mediated digital trade. many of the papers originate from the 3rd workshop on Agent{Mediated digital trade held at the side of the self sustaining brokers convention in June 2000. After prior workshops, one through the independent brokers convention in 1998 in Minneapolis and the second together with the overseas Joint convention On Arti cial Intelligence in 1999, this workshop endured the culture of the former ones through surroundings the scene for the review of the demanding situations that Agent-Mediated digital trade faces in addition to the possibilities it creates. by way of targeting age- mediated interactions, experts from di erent disciplines have been introduced jointly who give a contribution theoretical and alertness views within the narrowly centred subject that however consists of vast ranging issues equivalent to: agent architec- res, institutionalization, fiscal conception, modeling, felony frameworks and coverage instructions. the most issues for the workshop have been: { digital negotiation versions for brokers { Formal matters for brokers that function in digital marketplace areas { digital buying and selling associations and structures { buying and selling techniques for interrelated transactions (respectively auctions) The workshop bought 12 submissions of which 7 have been chosen for booklet during this quantity. even though the variety of submissions was once much less then anticipated for a big region like agent-mediated digital trade there's no cause to fret that this region doesn't get sufficient cognizance from the agent community.

From the implementation point of view, the Negotiation Engine is part of our Javabased JCOOL multi-agent framework. This is a ground-up re-implementation of the Lisp-based Agent Building Shell [3]. The new implementation adds a host of new extensions that facilitate the construction and execution of complex multi-agent applications. , XML/XSL, HHTP, and Servlet, into the new framework. This extension allows us to build agents that carry out conversations with other agents or human users over the Web, with dynamically generated web interfaces adapted to the context of the interaction.
